Bobby would collect a local "fag rag" and after compiling up to 15, he wrote a proposal along with filing for Copyrights to the Library of Congress Copyright office. In July 2000, the Circuit Boyz was born.
In August 2000, the first magazine to accept and publish the Circuit Boyz was a Tampa based bi-monthly magazine titled: The TLW magazine. (The Last Word) Initially it started out in black and white as the magazine at that time was primarily black and white. Within time, the magazine grew in size and with quality paper and into color, the Circuit Boyz saw its first colored strip in January 2004.
July of 2004, the weekly Fort Lauderdale 411 magazines ran a 4 weeks test run of the Circuit Boyz. After a positive response, a deal was made and the 411 magazine republished the Circuit Boyz from strip # 1, but for the first time in color. By the end of August that same year, TLW magazine ended their run with the Circuit Boyz (# 97). The Circuit Boyz returned to TLW magazine a year later the first week of August 2005 starting off with strip #101 (a special tribute return home comic) with open arms.
During the spring of 2005, Union Media bought both 411 magazine as well as the Express Newspaper and merged them under one company. With this new company, a total way of new staff and change went throughout both publications. In the first week of April, 411 magazine ended their run with the Circuit Boyz (#35).
The Circuit Boyz are based on situations that actually happened or were discussed amongst the friends of Bobby's. Bobby and Clint are the "founding" members of the strip, however, next in line is Bobby's high school sweetheart, Jamie (spelled Jayme). After that we're introduced to a fictional sugar daddy/boy couple named Alfredo and Fettuccini for a sense of variety in the gay community. Due to Bobby's love for the Goth and Industrial scene, a fictional Goth girl by the name of Gotheria Acid is introduced along with Bobby's adopted brother who's also into Goth (and one time drag queen), Ed. The next from Bobby's heart to show up will be his very own deer Chihuahua, Scarlett. And within time a fictional African American woman by the name of Lakira will make her appearance.
TheCircuitBoyz.com is intended to be used as an archive of all that has circulated between both magazines up to date. Each Wednesday a new strip or drawing will appear in this site.
